In September 2026, Meta introduced a new subscription system called Meta One. The new offering brings together various premium features of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI, and offers separate packages for private users, content creators and businesses.
From a business perspective, it is worth paying attention to the change because it is not simply a few convenience extras that have moved into paid packages. Meta One also offers features that can support community building, driving traffic to a website, analytics, content management, automation and AI-based customer communication.
At the same time, in parallel with this, a new restriction also started to appear in some Facebook accounts regarding the use of external links in organic posts.
What is Meta One?
Meta One is a subscription system connecting multiple Meta platforms. It is not a new social network and does not require a separate app.
Alongside packages tied to individual platforms — such as Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus and WhatsApp Plus — more complex subscriptions have also appeared. For businesses and content creators, Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max packages have been created.
Meta One launched with more than 50 premium features, whose exact availability, price and content can vary by region, by app, and even by account.
Important: the basic use of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI remains free. Meta One offers additional premium options on top of these.
What features does Meta One offer?
From a business perspective, the most interesting features of Meta One are not necessarily the flashy extras, but the tools that can support the daily operations of marketing and customer management.
These can include, for example, more detailed analytics and audience data, scheduling Stories in advance, a more advanced business profile, managing team members' access, and AI-based customer communication.
In some packages, a more prominent Follow button may appear on Reels, and those who have already interacted with a piece of content can be automatically invited to follow.
The latter is interesting because it does not look for a new audience — it tries to better leverage the attention that has already been captured.
Linking on Facebook is also changing
In parallel with the appearance of Meta One, a notification appeared in some Facebook accounts showing a limited monthly quota for new organic posts containing external links.
One of the messages displayed, for example: "You can add a link to 2 more posts this month."
At the same time, the interface also points out that with a Meta One subscription, links can be placed in more posts.
This does not mean, however, that from now on every Facebook page can uniformly use two links per month. The restrictions and Meta One features can vary by account and by region, so the information shown in your own account is always authoritative.
With the Advanced business and creator package, Meta already specifically mentions the links that can be used in organic posts and Reels content.
Why is linking important for a business?
The business goal of a Facebook or Instagram post in many cases does not end with a like or a view.
On social media you capture the user's attention, and then you can redirect them, for example, to a website, an online store, a landing page, a blog post, a quote request page, or an appointment booking.
If the number of organic posts containing external links becomes more limited for a given account, then it is worth deciding more consciously which content you use the available linking option for.
At the same time, other methods for turning a social media interaction into a real lead may also gain value.
Meta AI is also taking on a bigger role
Meta One offers not only marketing but also AI features.
The business packages may give greater access to the Meta Business Agent. This is an AI-based business assistant that can help, among other things, with answering questions, product recommendations, appointment booking, lead pre-qualification and handling certain customer conversations.
Some Meta One packages also provide a higher Meta AI usage quota, as well as additional image, video and other creative AI features.
This clearly shows the direction in which social media marketing is heading: AI is no longer only involved in content creation, but also in lead management and customer communication.
Is Facebook and Instagram becoming paid?
No.
According to Meta, the core features of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI remain free to use. The change is more that certain professional, growth-, analysis- or business-operation-supporting options are appearing as part of the premium packages.
It is also important that a Meta One subscription does not automatically mean greater organic reach or better advertising results. It rather provides tools with which businesses can manage the attention they have already captured, their content and their leads more efficiently.
What does all this mean for businesses?
The appearance of Meta One clearly illustrates a broader digital trend: social platforms are increasingly offering professional tools in a subscription model.
As a business owner, it is therefore worth paying attention not only to what new feature has arrived, but also to how it fits into the overall marketing and sales process.
A Facebook comment, for example, is just an interaction on its own. Much more interesting is what happens after it.
And this is where automation comes in.
How can Sales Innovo help with this?
With Sales Innovo, you can connect the leads coming from social media with the CRM, your own AI solutions, automations, AI Chat, email marketing and newsletters.
In a campaign, for example, you can ask your followers: "Comment INTERESTED and we'll send the details!"
If someone writes the specified word, a process can start automatically: the AI bot can contact them in a message, answer their questions, provide information, and then continue the conversation in the direction you define.
AI comment management, automated follow-up, appointment booking, recording in the CRM, an email sequence or newsletter communication can all be connected to this.
This way social media does not function as a standalone platform, but can become an entry point into a larger marketing and sales system.
What is worth checking now?
If you actively use Facebook or Instagram as a business owner, first check whether Meta One has already appeared in your own account, what packages and features it offers you, and whether you see any restriction on posts containing external links.
If Facebook is an important traffic-driving channel for you, it is also worth examining how many visitors and actual leads come from it to your website. The value of some Meta One features depends heavily on how you currently use the Meta platforms.
In the meantime, it is also worth thinking about how the attention captured on social media can be automatically carried forward to the next step of customer acquisition.
